“Gig” workers are spread across diverse occupational groups and oftentimes are not readily identifiable. Sometime too that is true with the “sharing economy”. Whether your customer is a “gig” worker, an Uber driver, a home-sharing participant or some similarly employed individual there are a number of concerns: who is providing the needed insurance coverage, are they employees or independent contractors, does their auto insurance provide them with coverage, how about their homeowners or renters policy?
