IEA Announces Winner of CPDM Scholarship

El Segundo, CA – June 1st, 2022 – The Insurance Education Association (IEA), a leading provider of professional training programs in workers’ compensation, disability management, human resources, and risk management, has announced the winner of its scholarship opportunity for Disability Management training.

Congratulations Elder Paul Thompson!

Elder Paul Thompson, aPHR, a HR  Leave Administrator and Absence Management Professional was awarded a full tuition scholarship for the first program in the three-part CPDM series starting June 9th, 2022.  Mr. Thompson joins a full class of emerging disability and absence management specialists all of whom are working toward earning the Certified Professional in Disability Management designation (CPDM) the nation’s foremost qualification in disability management. Mr. Thompson gratefully accepted the scholarship stating that “this opportunity will help document my professional strengths in pursuit of achieving more possibilities in my career pathways”.

CPDM scholarships are offered three times a year. Eligible candidates are invited to submit an application for consideration each trimester. A suitable applicant is currently ineligible for tuition reimbursement by an employer and has not been a previous recipient. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the first course in the Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) designation curriculum.

CPDM – Newly Revised Leading Edge Curriculum

The CPDM designation has been at the forefront of disability management expertise for more than two decades. In 2021, IEA’s curriculum development team collaborated with industry experts in disability management, workers’ compensation, human resources and employment law to revamp the curriculum content and delivery format. The newly launched program is right up to the minute in its relevance and applicability for effective disability and absence management planning.  Feedback from those who have recently completed the course points to the success of a new state-of-the-art student dashboard, the flexibility of the program for working adults, and live webinars which allow participants to interact with subject matter experts.

According to CPDM graduate Taryn Johnson-Kline  SHRM-CP,  “the CPDM course curriculum has been outstanding.  As an HR professional, I found the office hours and weekly group discussions extremely helpful.  Not often do you find a group of like-minded professionals, learning and openly sharing their IDAM experiences.  Having this hour together weekly has helped me not only better apply the content but also be aware of trends and best practices.”

CPDM summer courses start June 9th, 2022. For more information visit our website at www.ieatraining.org
