The cost of ageism in the workplace is staggering! With payouts of $80.4 million in age discrimination settlements from 2010-2018
it’s an issue that employers cannot afford to mismanage.
So says an article by Hiscox Insurance published recently in riskandinsurance.com which offered other important insights as to perceived
myths about older employees, the cost to the employee of workplace discrimination, and steps employers can take to mitigate any potential
for such discrimination.
Definitely not an issue to ignore given that by 2024, 25% of the working population will be aged 55 and above.
