The CPWC Indemnity (IND) program is a certification built for professionals who handle, support, or supervise California workers’ compensation claims that involve wage loss and long-term exposure. It focuses on how indemnity benefits are calculated, paid, adjusted, and resolved, including temporary disability, permanent disability, apportionment, return to work issues, and claim resolution. It is a strong fit for claims professionals moving from medical only into indemnity, experienced adjusters who want deeper California-specific expertise, TPAs, self-insured employers, HR and risk staff, and anyone who needs a complete, job-ready framework for indemnity claim handling.

The CPWC-IND program provides comprehensive training aligned with California workers’ compensation laws and regulations and supports After completion, you will be able to manage indemnity claims with confidence from setup through resolution. That includes calculating and administering wage replacement benefits, understanding how disability ratings and apportionment affect exposure, coordinating medical-legal dispute processes when needed, issuing the right notices and documentation, and making informed decisions that support timely resolution and compliance.

CPWC-MO focuses on treatment-only claim handling. CPWC-MBR focuses on medical billing, fee schedules, and payment disputes. CPWC-IND focuses on indemnity benefits and exposure, meaning wage loss, disability, return to work consequences, settlement strategy, and long-term claim value. If a claim has temporary disability, permanent disability, apportionment, or settlement activity, CPWC-IND is the track designed for that work.

CPWC-IND covers the indemnity side of California workers’ compensation, including how wage loss benefits are determined and paid, how temporary and permanent disability benefits work, how permanent disability is evaluated and rated, how apportionment impacts claim value, how return to work issues affect benefits, and how claims are resolved through settlement and litigation processes. The course also reinforces the compliance side of indemnity claim handling, including documentation practices, ethics, and oversight considerations.

Yes. CPWC-IND provides continuing education credit for California workers’ compensation adjusters.

You will have access to your enrolled course for one year. To be considered a qualified adjuster in California, you must complete your training within that amount of time.

To pass each module you must complete all lectures, reading and assignments, view all resources, and pass the exam. You have two attempts to pass the exam. If you are unable to pass the 2nd time, please contact info@ieatraining.org to discuss your options.

Because California’s workers’ compensation law (fee schedules, UR rules, IBR, etc.) changes periodically, the CPWC materials are reviewed and updated regularly to remain compliant. This ensures you’re learning the latest standards and how to apply them in current practice.

There are no strict prerequisites. The program is built to accommodate both people new to workers’ compensation and those who are already in the field but want to update or deepen their knowledge. While experience helps, the modules are designed to cover foundational topics.

Tuition for the CPWC Indemnity program is $2,499. This fee includes all course materials and there are no additional costs for textbooks or resources.

We accept all major credit cards, Shop Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. You can also choose Shop Pay Installments to spread payments out over time for added flexibility.

Yes, of course!  Each module includes an online exam. These measure that you’ve understood key concepts and can apply them. Successful completion of all modules activities triggers the certificate. This certification does not require an additional final exam or external exam.

Yes. The CPWC Indemnity can be used for California Workers’ Compensation Adjuster Continuing Education (CE) credits. By completing this course, you’ll not only earn an industry-recognized certification but also meet the state’s CE requirements for maintaining your California workers’ compensation adjuster certification.
