When employees have similar medical restrictions, but very different job roles, reasonable accommodation decisions aren’t one-size-fits-all. Applying an individualized, case-by-case review is not only best practice, it’s a critical component requirement under the ADA. 

In this 30 minute case study session, Azucena Coronel, CPDM, CLMS, walks through a real -world accommodation scenario involving two employees, similar restrictions, and distinct job responsibilities, highlighting how to evaluate each situation independently while remaining compliant and consistent.

Azucena M Coronel, CPDM, CLMS earned her certificate as a Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM) in 1997. She has been in the field of integrated disability and absence since the mid 1990s, and has designed, developed, implemented and administered these programs for various public agencies including the City of Oakland, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the County of Orange.
