WCLP is IEA’s certification for attorneys, paralegals and legal staff working California workers’ compensation. The 26 modules follow a claim the way a case actually moves: injury and compensability, medical care and disability benefits, discovery and medical-legal, then filing, trial, settlement and appeal.

What the certification covers
Twenty-six modules across three certifications, numbered and designed to be taken in order. They follow a claim the way a case moves.
Modules 1–9. Injuries and presumptions, affirmative defenses, AOE/COE, scope of medical care, temporary and permanent disability, apportionment and death benefits.
Where a case begins
Modules 10–18. Utilization review and IMR, medical control and MPNs, billing, discovery, the medical-legal process, filing and service, conferences, trials and settlement.
Where a case is built
Modules 19–26. The WCAB and jurisdiction, insurance and employment, statutes of limitations, 132a discrimination, penalties, arbitration and ADR, liens and appeals.
