Which Workers’ Compensation Role Fits You?
California recognizes three key roles when it comes to handling workers’ compensation claims:
Claims Adjuster – This is the primary role responsible for managing all aspects of a workers’ comp claim from start to finish, including investigation, benefits, and resolution.
Medical-Only Claims Adjuster – Focuses only on claims involving medical treatment, where there’s no time lost from work. It’s a good entry point if you’re just starting out in the field.
Medical Bill Reviewer – Specializes in reviewing and processing medical bills to ensure accuracy and compliance with fee schedules and regulations.
Each role has its own training requirement, and IEA offers the classroom instruction you need to qualify.
